About Me

Who am I?

Hello and welcome!

My name is Keara Holmes -- a certified teacher and Direct Instruction tutor. I received my B.S. in Collaborative Special Education and Human Development & Family Studies from Auburn University. I also received my M.Ed in Special Education, specializing in Transitional Services, at Auburn University. I have taught in the elementary school setting and completed hundreds of teaching hours in the secondary and post-secondary settings. I absolutely love teaching and tutoring and am convinced I am living out my calling and purpose. Before launching Holmes Tutoring, I was a special education teacher at a public elementary school. I decided to launch Holmes Tutoring after my late mother encouraged me to take a bold step and follow my deepest desire, which is to help people close their achievement gaps.

Presently, I am excited to revamp Holmes Tutoring a bit to help homeschooling families. As a mom to a homeschooled, energetic toddler and an infant, I have learned how to follow a realistic lesson plan outline that fits our busy schedules. I would like to offer this service to other homeschooled families  who are in need of a custom homeschool roadmap to follow.

My passion for helping families feel confident, equipped, and supported in their homescholing journey--without the endess stress of piecing it all together, is why I started creating custom homeschool roadmaps and lesson plans. Contact me to get started on making your homeschool year a successful and stress-free one.

I am also married to my wonderful husband Anthony Holmes and we have two beautiful childre, Chosen and Auhnor.
